One of the best things about living and working as a photographer in Savannah is that inspiration is always right outside the door. The historic squares, cobblestone streets, and layered history make this city such a dream to photograph—and I’m always looking for ways to gather fresh content that shows off its charm.
Recently, Emily from @windsorgreyphotography and Andrew let me tag along with them while I carried a couple of cameras around town. It was the perfect excuse to explore, create, and collect some new Savannah content for my portfolio.
We started at the Green-Meldrim House, soaking in the Gothic Revival details, after making our way from the Wedding Fountain in Orleans Square. From there, we wandered down Jones Street (always one of my favorites). Then made a quick stop for a wardrobe change and a break from the South Georgia heat and headed to a hotel for some rooftop and lobby photos that gave us a completely different perspective on the city.
Of course, no Savannah adventure is complete without good food, so we wrapped up the day at Zunzi’s on Drayton. Between the iconic backdrops, the little spontaneous stops along the way, and the company, it was exactly the kind of day that reminds me why I love documenting this city and couples so much.
Savannah has a way of surprising me every time I go out with my camera—and I can’t wait to share more of what I’ve been capturing.
