My husband, Gavin and I decided about a year ago to do something crazy. We decided to pick up our lives on the North Shore of Boston to relocate to Savannah, Ga.
&nbsp;
This was not an easy decision in many ways, we both grew up in Massachusetts and were leaving the one place we had ever really lived as individuals and as a couple. Our friends and family were also a big factor and now that we miss them so much we are hoping that they come visit us soon. With that in mind, now that we are a couple thousand miles away we wanted to use some of our skills and create a road map of things we are doing in hopes it will entice visitors even more.

Gavin has always enjoyed playing tour guide whenever someone was going to Boston or Salem, MA. We love sharing where we live with people, we just don't know what we don't know yet here in Savannah. So while we compile Gavin's database of best in Savannah for any particular scenario, hopefully our YouTube channel will save him from writing a novel into Messenger for each person that asks. All we will have to do is say, 'Hey you might enjoy this link"

Join us as we travel around and explore all of the new sights, eateries, and probably bars in Savannah, Ga and the surrounding Low Country area. We have been having fun getting ideas of what to share, so I know we will have a blast putting together content that hopefully ya'll will be enticed to follow along and join us at some point.

This is truly the Adventure of a lifetime, we are trying to make the most of each day with each other and our two dogs (Keaton and Rye) and one cat (Audrey).

I Left Boston for a Slower Life in the South...

In December, we packed up our lives and moved to a city we had only previously admired in photographs and in quick visits - Savannah, Georgia. Nestled in the heart of the Low Country, Savannah is a city that is as rich in history as it is in natural beauty. We've only been here a few months, but already, Savannah is starting to feel like home. It's a place where we wake up to slow mornings, under the blanket of Southern skies, and our pups finally have the backyard they&rsquo;ve always yearned for.
&nbsp;
Join us on our journey as we explore our new home, one adventure at a time, with our camera ever at the ready. Savannah is a city that begs to be photographed. From the Spanish moss that drapes the ancient oak trees to the intricately designed historic homes, every corner of this city tells a story. And we are here to capture it all.

One of the best things about moving to a new place is getting to know it. Every day is a new adventure. Whether we're strolling through Forsyth Park, exploring the historic district, or enjoying some local cuisine, we're constantly discovering what makes Savannah so special.

As we continue to explore the Low Country, we look forward to capturing our experiences and sharing them with you. From the cobblestone streets and antebellum architecture to the vibrant arts scene and the unique culture, Savannah has a lot to offer. We are also hoping to uncover some of the hidden gems that are off the beaten path.

We are truly grateful for this journey and the opportunity to live in such a beautiful place. As we get to know the area even more, we're excited to experience and capture more of what Savannah has to offer.

Exploring the Charm of Savannah, GA: Our New Home

I still remember the day quite vividly. The soft whispers of the ocean breeze, the orange and pink hues of the sunset reflecting off the tranquil waters of Myrtle Beach, the hushed, intimate moments shared between Sarah and Mike - it was a dreamy elopement, indeed. The kind of moments that make you appreciate the beauty of love and togetherness.
&nbsp;
Sarah is a dear friend of mine. She was the artist behind my wedding hair and makeup. Over the years, our professional relationship blossomed into a cherished friendship. And when she met Mike, a fellow Westfield State Alum, I could see the sparks flying between them. Their love story felt like a book written by fate itself.
&nbsp;
On their special day, it was just the two of them, standing barefoot on the sandy beach, their eyes gleaming with love. The setting sun painted the sky with a palette of warm colors, mirroring the glow on their faces. The world stood still as they promised their forever to each other. The only witnesses to their eternal love were the endless ocean, the setting sun, and me, feeling immensely privileged to be a part of their intimate celebration.

Over the years, I have attended and photographed countless weddings. But there&rsquo;s something incredibly touching about intimate elopements. It&rsquo;s about celebrating love in its rawest, most authentic form, away from the noise and chaos of grand celebrations. It&rsquo;s just two people, bound by love, vowing to navigate the journey of life together.

As a photographer, I have always been on the lookout for opportunities to learn, grow, and connect within the photography community. One such opportunity that recently came my way was the Canada Photo Summit in Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada, a gathering of industry professionals, hobbyists, and enthusiasts from all walks of life. Today, I want to share my incredible experience with you all.
&nbsp;
Before we delve into the details, let's talk about what the Canada Photo Summit is. It's a place where photographers from across the globe congregate to share their work, learn from one another, and get inspired. It's a haven for anyone who views the world through a lens and wishes to capture its myriad hues and moments in frames.
&nbsp;
As soon as I stepped into the summit, I was greeted by a vibrant atmosphere buzzing with creativity. The air was filled with the palpable excitement of hundreds of photographers eager to explore, learn, and connect. One could see a broad spectrum of photography styles, genres, and perspectives, which was truly a sight to behold.
&nbsp;
The summit was well-structured by Lindsay Coulter and Taylor Jackson, with various sessions, mini guided photo walks with models, and panel discussions scheduled across the duration of the event. I attended several of these, and each one was a treasure trove of knowledge and insights. The speakers, all seasoned professionals in their respective fields, shared their experiences, tips, and tricks of the trade. I found these sessions highly educational and enlightening. From accessing creative inspiration with Sam Hurd and lighting inspiration with Jason Vinson to the amazing networking ability of Magic the Wedding Photographer. The importance of diversity of skills with Photo-Me-Ike, as well as the ever important mantra of just believing in yourself and the service you provide from Lindsay Coulter.
&nbsp;
The networking opportunities were another highlight of the summit. I got to meet and interact with so many like-minded individuals. It was wonderful to share our experiences, learn from one another, and build connections that I am sure will last a lifetime.
&nbsp;
Moreover, the event was impeccably organized. A big shout out to the team behind the Canada Photo Summit for ensuring that everything went smoothly and all attendees had a great time.
&nbsp;
As I look back, I am filled with gratitude for this enriching experience. I learned so much, met so many amazing people, and came back with a renewed sense of passion and inspiration for my craft. I'm already looking forward to the next edition of the Canada Photo Summit. Until then, I'll be here, applying the knowledge I gained and continually striving to better my craft.

There&rsquo;s something quite magical about the intersection of people, place, and passion. For me, this magic often unfolds in the most unexpected of ways &ndash; through my journey as a professional photographer. This time, it was a local social media group that paved the way for an unforgettable family session at one of my favorite locations, Phillips Beach, Swampscott, MA.
&nbsp;
The role of social media in forging connections is undeniable nowadays. In my case, it allows me to tap into local communities and meet amazing families who are eager to capture their precious moments together. This particular instance was an absolute win, a testament to the power of such platforms.
&nbsp;
The family I met that chilly day at Phillips Beach was nothing short of delightful. Despite the cold weather, their warmth was palpable from the moment we met. Their smiles were infectious, their laughter echoing against the backdrop of crashing waves and seagulls' calls. We were a group of strangers brought together by the whims of social media, yet the bond was instant.

Photography can be an odd profession sometimes, meeting people you've never known in places you've possibly never been. But it&rsquo;s instances like these that remind me of why I love what I do. Syndey Nicolson at the venue was a pleasure to work with. Nestled amidst verdant fields and ringed by towering trees, the barn provided the perfect rustic backdrop for their special day. The morning began with the sweetest of rituals. Stacey, in her bridal suite, was surrounded by her beaming bridesmaids, each one fussing over her, their laughter ringing through the room. The air was thick with anticipation as the hairstylist, Shannon Ortiz weaved intricate curls into Stacey's hair, her real daisies carefully placed in her bun for the final touch. The bride's excitement was palpable - her eyes sparkled with joy, her smile never fading. Meanwhile, Mark and his groomsmen were in their own quarters, indulging in their fair share of pre-wedding rituals. The air was filled with the smell of fresh aftershave and the sound of laughter as they shared old stories and fond memories. Mark, looking dapper in his well-tailored suit, just waiting for that intimate first look to come before they said their I Do's. The ceremony took place under the open skies, at the adjacent field where there is a large pergola. White chairs were arranged in neat rows on the lush green lawn, and an arch adorned with flowers and greenery marked the spot where Stacey and Mark would exchange their vows. The guests arrived, their cheerful chatter and laughter adding to the festive atmosphere. As Stacey walked down the aisle, the world seemed to stand still. Mark's face lit up like the morning sun as he watched his bride approach, his heart full of love and adoration. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of traditional and personal touches. The couple exchanged their vows, their voices steady and clear. Laughter was ever present and their promises were sealed with a tender kiss. The guests erupted into cheers, showering the newlyweds with cheers. The reception held in the barn was as warm and inviting as the couple themselves. The rustic charm of the barn was enhanced with fairy lights, creating a soft, romantic glow. Long tables were laden with delicious food from both of their heritage, and the air was filled with the clinking of glasses and hearty laughter. And so, in the quiet town of Concord, at the charming Barn at Bull Meadow, Stacey and Mark's wedding day was not just a union of two souls, but a celebration of love, friendship, and togetherness.

Rustic Wedding, The Barn at Bull Meadow in Concord, NH

Eight years ago, I found myself sitting in the hair and makeup chair of Sarah Derosa of @theextensionsuite, in my hotel room on my wedding day. Little did I know, this would be the start of a friendship that would transcend beyond the confines of a beauty studio.

To this day I entrust my hair care needs to Sarah, little did I know when I hired her to do my makeup all those years ago, the connections I made with her were profound, and one such connection was with Sarah, who later became a cherished friend.

This August, life came full circle when I had the privilege of capturing Sarah's engagement in the picturesque setting of Newport, Rhode Island. The experience was doubly special as my husband, Gavin, and I were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. What better way to commemorate our love than by celebrating the love of dear friends!

Newport, with its stunning cliffs and panoramic ocean views, offered the perfect backdrop for this joyous occasion.
